- ISTE Kerala Section organized a two day training programme on 'Application of Advanced Mathematics in Engineering and Research Methodologies' for Teachers in Engineering Colleges during 21-22 Jan 2011 at VAST.

- Miss.Reyma Joy of S1S2 A Batch became the Individual Champion in the Calicut University Tennis Tournament held at Little Flower College, Guruvayoor on 19th & 20th January 2011 and team secured Third Position in the Team Championship.
- ISO 9001:2008 Re-certification Audit :- The College went through the process of Recertification Audit during 13 - 14 January 2011.
- Mr. Anil Kumar, Asst Prof and Mr. Ranjith Somasundaran, Lecturer in PE Dept attended a Short Term Training Program on Agile Supply Chains at Govt. Engineering College, Thrissur
- A demonstration of the ERP solution from Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) was arranged on 11-Jan-11. The online demo was arranged by Mr. Dileep & Mr. Suneesh of Valuepoint systems, Kochi (Partner of TCS).
- Tata Consultancy Services CRD 2011 conducted at our college campus for the first time on Friday, January 07, 2011 and Saturday, January 08, 2011. Fifteen final year students selected.
- Vidya student senate organized Christmas celebration programme on 23.12.2010.
- Energy Conservation Day was jointly celebrated by KSEB Engineers Association (KSEBEA) & Vidya Academy of Science & Technology on 14/12/2010 at Vidya Academy of Science & Technology.
- The students of 2006-10 pass out batch have bagged 5 university ranks
- A State level Technical Paper Presentation Contest for UG Students ( ORACLE ’10 ) was conducted on 20th December 2010 at Vidya Academy of Science & Technology.
- Mr. Manu. B, S7 Mechanical got "KALA-PRATHIBA " in D Zone held in connection with Arts festival conducted by Calicut University during 18- 20 Dec 2010 at Thrissur. He got two first prizes on Tabala and Mrithagam.
- Vidya Staff Club celebrated X‐mas on 18-12-2010 in the main Seminar Hall
- Prof. Sudha Balagopalan attended and presented a research paper titled “An Integrated Model for Transmission Sector using Cooperative Game Theory” in the prestigious 16th National Power Systems Conference 2010 (NPSC) at Osmania University, Hyderabad from 15th to 17th December 2010.
- CSI (Computer Society of India) student branch of VAST organized Technocraft ‐ All Kerala one day technical symposium on 14th December 2010.
- The College Arts festival “SARGAM‐2010” was held in the campus during 08‐09, December 2010. Famous Malayalam movie music director Sri. Johnson inaugurated the festival and the activities of the Student Senate for the academic year 2010
- The Annual General Body Meeting of the Parent Teacher Association of Vidya Academy of Science & Technology was held on 11‐12‐2010, at the college auditorium.
- Prof.Sudha Balagopalan’s research paper titled “Coordination of multilateral trades in electricity markets via power vector” has been accepted in the European transaction in power systems, John Wiley Publication.
- A session on “Job opportunities for electrical engineers in project management & contracting” was conducted by Vibgyor Educational Trust for S7 EEE students on 03/12/2010
- The Institution of Engineers (India) VAST Student’s chapter of Electronics and communication engineering department conducted technical programme on Friday , 26th November 2010
- A Write up on "Eliye kollan illam chudunnnavar" (Those who burn their homes to kill rats) by Prof. V A Sudhakaran, HOD CE, was published in Mathrubhumi daily, Thrissur Edition. Letter to Editor column on 25th November 2010
- The two day National Conference on Non Conventional Energy “NAVISSANCE 2010” was held at our college on November 19th and 20th, 2010.
- 14 faculty members from Vidya attended the 21st Annual Convention of ISTE held at SJCET, Palai on 20 Nov 2010.
- Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering launched a Social Outreach Project on 18th November 2010.
- Mr. Madhav. K of PE S5 secured Bronze medal in the Calicut University Inter Collegiate Judo Championship held at St. Joseph’s College, Irinjalakuda
- ISTE New Delhi has decided to honour Dr. D. Balakrishnan posthumously by awarding Honourary Fellowship of ISTE for his commendable services rendered in the advancement of Technical Education in the country.
- Vidya Academy of Science & Technology, Thalakkottukara is adjudged as Best ISTE Chapter with maximum variety of activities and Best ISTE Students Chapter with maximum new membership of ISTE Kerala Section for the year 2009-10.
