  • The IETE‐Students’  Forum  organized  a  2  day  Hands‐On‐Training  workshop  on  EDWINXP  –  An  EDA  Tool  for Simulation & Design of Electronic Circuits during 13‐14, July 2012 at VAST.
  • College  Table  Tennis  team  (M)  participated  in  the  Don  Bosco  All  Kerala  Open  Prize money Table Tennis Championship 2012‐13 held at Don Bosco Higher secondary School, Irinjalakuda during 13‐15, July 2012.
  • Five  NSS  volunteers  participated  in  the  state  level  workshop  for  volunteer secretaries,  held  at  Sree  Narayana  Guru  Institute  of  Science  and  Technology,  North Paravur, Ernakulam during 14‐15 July, 2012.

1. 2 day Hands‐On‐Training Workshop on EDWINXP 

The  Institution  of  Electronics  &  Telecommunication  Engineers‐Students’  Forum  ‐  IETE (ISF)  organized  a  2  day  Hands‐On‐Training  workshop  on  EDWINXP  –  An  EDA  Tool  for Simulation & Design of Electronic Circuits during 13‐14, July 2012 at Vidya Academy of Science & Technology. 110 students from final & pre‐final year batches participated in the  workshop.  Mr.  Rajesh  G.R  (HOD  I/C,  ECE  Dept)  inaugurated  the  workshop.  The training sessions were handled by eminent and efficient trainers from VISIONICS (I) PVT. LTD.  Mr.  Joseph  Abraham  handled  the  session  on  “Simulation  Techniques”  and  Mr. Nagesh.  R,  handled  the  session  on  “PCB  Manufacturing  &  Introduction  to  PIC Microcontrollers”. Mr. Rakesh V.S (Asst. Prof, ECE Dpet) awarded the certificates to the participants.  Mr.  Sijin  C  Johnson  (Secretary,  Students’  Forum)  proposed  the  vote  of thanks. 

2. An  overview  about  Campus  Placements  for  S7  B.  Tech  students  was  held  at Auditorium  on  11,  July  2012.  Principal,  Vice  ‐  Principal  and  Placement  Director addressed the gathering.

3. A  talk  on  “Opportunities  on  Indian  Armed  Force  and  How  to  approach  it?"  was conducted  for  S3  B.  Tech  students  on  11  and  12,  July  2012  in  main  seminar  hall. Lt. Col. C.K. Babu (Administrator VAST) was the resource person. 

4. Gate  Coaching  Classes  conducted  by  Dept  of  Electrical  and  Electronics  Engineering has commenced from 30, June 2012.

Don Bosco All Kerala Open Prize money Table Tennis Championship

College  Table  Tennis  team  (M)  participated  in  the  Don  Bosco  All  Kerala  Open  Prize money Table Tennis Championship 2012‐13 held at Don Bosco Higher secondary School, Irinjalakuda during 13‐15, July 2012.

1. South Indian Bank‐ Lions Clubs International All Kerala Quiz Competition

NSS  volunteers,  Mr.Robieo  R  Chazoor  (S7  ME) and  Nikhil  Viswanathan  (S7  EEE) participated  in  the  South  Indian  Bank‐Lions  Clubs  International  All  Kerala  Quiz Competition for college students held at Holy Family GHS Thrissur. They have qualified for the final round which is to be conducted at Doordarsan studio, Trivandrum and will be broadcasted in 13 episodes at prime time on DD Keralam and DD satellite.

2. State Level Workshop for Volunteer Secretaries

Five  NSS  volunteers  participated  in  the  state  level  workshop  for  volunteer secretaries,  held  at  Sree  Narayana  Guru  Institute  of  Science  and  Technology,  North Paravur, Ernakulam during 14‐15 July, 2012.

We  express  our  deep‐felt  condolences  to  the  bereaved  family  on  the  sad  demise  of    Ms. Nilofar Banu (a student of CSE 2007‐2011 batch). She met with an accident on 12, July 2012 in Chennai.

We pray for the departed soul.
