The Department of Humanities has English, Economics and Industrial Management under its canopy. It caters to the needs of the students in different semesters. The department imparts quality education to its students by means of demonstration and available teaching aids. It undertakes various training programmes for self-improvement and enhancing communication skills for staff and students.

The department maintains its own library besides a central library of the college books on Communication Skills, Personality Development, Positive Thinking, and Reference and text books on Management, Economics, and English Language and Literature.
English Language Lab
The Language Lab provides a platform in which the students acquire the competency and command over English Language. It also improves their Communication Skills, Soft Skills, Presentation Skills, Phonetics and Grammar. The lab enables students to appear for an interview and make them competent to face the global needs and changes. Training is given to the students to develop their personality and career. The lab yields the students not only the knowledge in various aspects of communication skills but also helps them to gain self confidence and to overcome the fear of speaking in public. The lab comprises sixty one computers connected through 100 Mbps speed network. The Digital Language lab software Tell Me More is used for Language Lab.

National Seminar on Ethics and Transdiciplinaries
The department of Humanities conducted a National seminar on Ethics and Transdiciplinaries in collaboration with Association for Cultural and Scientific Research on 27.07.16. The seminar was conducted at the Language Lab in the Decennial Block.
The inaugural session started at 9.30 AM. Dr Vishnu S, HOD (I/C) Department of Humanities welcomed the audience. Dr Sudha Balagopalan, Principal presided over the function. Er. G Mohanachandran, Executive Director formally inaugurated the function. Dr Lison Varghese, President ACSR felicitated the audience.
The Key note address was delivered by Dr CJ Davees, Associate Professor and Research Supervisor, St Thomas College, Thrissur.
Ms Divya Radhakrishan, Assistant Professor, Department of Humanities delivered the vote of thanks.
The inaugural session came to an end at 10.45. Tea was provided to all.
The Technical session started at 11.00 AM.
A total of 28 papers were presented. The chairs for the sessions were Dr Syamala K, Ms Dashami, Mr MP Harikrishnan and Mr Anil Kumar.
There was a special address on Ethics and Research by Dr Jay Kandampully, Professor, Ohio State University.
