MCA Admission 2013-14

  • Seats 

MCA – 60 Seats (30 seats in Mgt. & 30 seats in Govt.)

  •  Eligibility
  1. Bachelors Degree in any discipline of three years duration with mathematics (this does not include Business Mathematics or Business Statistics) as one of the subjects with at least 50% marks scored in mathematics and the course undergone under the regular programme.
  2.  Candidates should have passed and be ranked in the MCA Entrance Exam of Kerala.
  • Course Duration

MCA course will be completed over a period of 3 years consisting of 6 semesters.

  • Admission Process
50% of the seats as indicated above will be allotted by the Govt and the remaining 50% seats filled by the Management based on merit. 
  • Application form
Application forms can be collected from the College at a payment of Rs 500/- or downloaded from the college website/Apply online. Submission of downloaded applications will be valid only if accompanied by DD for Rs 500/- payable at Thrissur in the name of Vidya Academy of Science & Technology.

  • Scholarships awarded by the college
Only eligible candidates whose yearly family income is less than Rs 1.5 lakhs should apply for merit cum means scholarships.

  • Bus Service
Students residing more than 20 kms away from the college are advised to take hostel accommodation as a lot of time is wasted in travelling every day and they are not able to cope up with the study work and tend to lag in their academic performance. They also become physically tired and are not able to concentrate on their studies. Bus fees are paid for one semester (6 months) period.

  • Training & Placement 

At Vidya Academy of Science and Technology a lot of emphasis is being given to the overall development of the students through a regimen to co-curricular activities. During the second and third year, each week, two periods are exclusively devoted for activities covering various areas of self development.

  • Hostel
Students are advised to take hostel accommodation at least in the first year as this gives them more time for studies, being a very crucial year.Please be rest assured that no form ragging is permitted in the college and the hostel authorities are very strict in enforcing this aspect.The college canteen provides wholesome food in neat, clean and healthy environment.

  • Admission Process for Management Seats
  1. Application forms to be obtained from college/downloaded from site/Apply online.
  2. Submit filled up applications by due date.
  3. Rank list of applicants will be displayed on website/ published based on Entrance rank merit.
  4. Students will be called for admission counseling on notified dates and admission process carried out as per the rank list. Students will be accompanied by their parent.
  5. All original/ supporting documents and full fees will be deposited at the time of admission.
  • Cancellation of Admission

No cancellation of admission is permitted after the admissions have been declared as closed. Cancellation of admission after due date will be subject to payment of liquidation fees as stipulated by the Govt.

7 The student who qualifies from other universities should produce migration certificate in original and FIVE Photocopies duly attested by a Gazetted officer.  
8 Photographs of students – 03 Passport size & 01 stamp size  
9 Community and Income certificate in original and FIVE Photostat copies duly attested by a Gazetted officer. If applicable
10 Passport size photograph of parents – 01 Set (Father & Mother/Local Guardian)  
11 Allotment Memo in original and FIVE Photostat copies duly attested by a Gazetted officer. Only Govt. seat students
12 Bank Receipt in original and FIVE Photostat copies duly attested by a Gazetted officer. Only Govt. seat students
 

Original documents once deposited will not be issued to the student for the duration of course of three years. Sufficient photostat copies of each document should be kept with the students duly attested by a Gazetted officer for their future use during this period.
