Vidya sets benchmark with 4 KTU Rudhirasena Awards

Rudhirasena is the heartbeat of NSS-a dedicated student-led network that connects voluntary blood donors with patients in urgent need, ensuring help is always just a phone call away.Reaffirming its dedication to social impact, Vidya's NSS units have once again set a benchmark in community service through their outstanding and tireless efforts.

It is with immense pride and honor that the Editorial Team of News & Events shares the news that Vidya Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) has achieved a spectacular victory at the prestigious Rudhirasena Awards 2025-26, instituted by the NSS Cell of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU), honoring VAST's outstanding contributions to voluntary blood donation initiatives.

VAST received awards in four distinguished categories:

Institution Conducting the Highest Number of Voluntary Blood Donation Camps

Institution with the Highest Number of Voluntary Blood Donations

Individual Award for the Most Number of Blood Donations (Male)

Individual Award for the Most Number of Blood Donations (Female)

The honors were officially presented during the highly anticipated Rudhirasena Meet 2026 and Award Presentation Ceremony, hosted on 11 July 2026 at the John Cox Memorial CSI Institute of Technology, Thiruvananthapuram. The  team comprisng of Mr. Ranjith E R (NSS Program Officer, Asst Prof, ME Dept) received the awards from the distinguished chief guests, Mr Shahansha K. S., IPS (Deputy Commissioner of Police, Law & Order -Traffic) and Mr Y. M. Uppin (NSS Regional Director)

Mr. Rajesh S K (NSS Program Officer and Associate Professor, EEE Dept), Mr. Ranjith E R (NSS Program Officer and Assistant Professor, ME Dept) and Ms. Delmy David V (NSS Program Officer and Assistant Professor, CSE Dept) - alongside the dedicated student cohort and the institution's leadership. Their collaborative, exemplary execution of community welfare programs has enabled VAST to successfully deliver on its social mission, rightfully emerging as a premier institution for voluntary blood donation within the KTU network.
