Vidya Academy of Science & Technology has four NSS units namely Unit No. 101,200,662 and 663.Unit No.101 started in the year 2003 and 200 started in the year 2007.Units 662 and 663 started in the year 2015.Units 101 and 200 are aided units while Units 662 and 663 are self-financing units. These units are under APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. The program officers of these units are Mr.Renjith E R(101),Delmy David(200),Vandana M (662) and Rajesh S K(663)

NSS build relationships with community to collaborate on projects and initiatives that benefit the society at large. The NSS unit can collaborate with local NGOs, government agencies and community organizations to identify and address the needs of the surrounding community. Such activities will empower students to cultivate volunteering and skills to help others. NSS can also help students to develop a sense of civic responsibility and to become more engaged citizens. The objective of the NSS is “Development of Personality of Students through Community Service” 

Our NSS cell engage in various innovative and creative community intervention activities through incessant team work and committed effort of Programme Officers and Supporting Volunteer force. NSS work together with for a mission – Catering community needs by improving Academic Standard & Social Commitment of volunteers through technology transfer for community development and curriculum related social service. NSS attain this mission through a pristine and precise vision- To mould “Social Engineers” who know the pulse of the community and would be able to act accordingly.
