The Department of Computer Applications aims to equip educators with practical knowledge and tools to effectively integrate Artificial Intelligence into their teaching methodologies by organizing  FDPs / workshops .

The Department of Computer Applications in association with IQAC, ISTE, and CSI (VAST Chapters), successfully organized a five-day online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Teaching in the AI Age: Practical Applications for Educators” from 16-20 December 2024.

The FDP witnessed participation from faculty members of various institutions across the country, making it a collaborative and enriching experience.

The sessions were led by distinguished resource persons from academia and industry, who shared their expertise on topics such as AI-driven teaching tools, personalized learning strategies, AI ethics in education, and future trends in AI-enabled education. Each session included interactive discussions, hands-on demonstrations, and case studies, enabling participants to gain valuable insights into applying AI technologies in real-world educational scenarios.

The FDP commenced with an inaugural session, Dr Reji C Joy (HoD,MCA) welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of AI in modern education. Inaugural session was presided over by Dr.Sunitha C (Principal).

Dr V N Krishnachandran (Former Vice-Principal, VAST) was the Chief Guest for the function. Mr Suresh Lal (Executive Director, VICT) and Adv P N Unnirajan IPS (Retd.) (Director-Administration, VICT)  felicitated over the function. Ms Salkala K S (FDP-Coordinator, Asst Prof, MCA) proposed the vote of thanks.

Participants expressed their appreciation for the well-structured sessions and the knowledge imparted by the resource persons.

The FDP concluded with a note of gratitude to the resource persons, organizing team, and participants for their active involvement. This FDP marked a significant step in empowering educators to embrace technology and adapt to the evolving educational landscape, fostering innovative teaching practices for a better future.
