The Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell at Vidya Academy of Science and Technology was constituted in 2022 with a team of seven dedicated members. The primary objective of the IPR Cell is to create awareness about the importance of intellectual property rights among students, faculty, and researchers. The cell provides guidance and support for protecting innovative ideas, inventions, designs, and research outputs through patents, copyrights, trademarks, and other intellectual property mechanisms. By fostering a deeper understanding of intellectual property, the IPR Cell aims to encourage innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship within the academic community.
The Vidya Research Centre (VRC) at Vidya Academy of Science and Technology plays a pivotal role in fostering a strong research culture among students and faculty members. With the goal of instilling research aptitude and a passion for innovation early in the academic journey, VRC actively promotes and supervises research activities beyond the scope of regular academics. Through its diverse range of initiatives, VRC supports both undergraduate and postgraduate students, alongside faculty members, in developing and executing research projects. In line with its mission, VRC assists faculty in preparing and submitting research proposals to various funding agencies, ensuring the smooth execution and successful completion of approved projects. It also provides vital support to students working on their academic research projects and organizes specialized training programs to nurture academic research talent.
To further promote innovation and safeguard intellectual property arising from research activities, the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell was established. The IPR Cell works in close association with VRC to guide students and faculty members in securing and managing their intellectual property, ensuring that their innovations and ideas are protected, valued, and leveraged for further academic and commercial opportunities. 
The IPR Cell is committed to raising awareness about the importance of intellectual property and its role in fostering a creative and competitive academic environment at Vidya Academy of Science and Technology.
The IPR Cell plays a crucial role in ensuring that the intellectual contributions of Vidya’s faculty members and students are properly safeguarded and recognized. It also works to facilitate the commercialization of intellectual property, enhancing the potential for academic innovations to create real-world impact. Through workshops, seminars, and advisory services, the IPR Cell helps the Vidya community navigate the complex landscape of intellectual property laws, encouraging a culture of responsible and strategic innovation.
